CELEBRATE RECOVERY
World Harvest Church is ministering to anyone in central Ohio who deals with hurts,
habits & hang-ups through a time-tested outreach called Celebrate Recovery.
Birthed in California more than 20 years ago, Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered
approach to dealing with any type of addiction, co-dependency or dysfunction – your
own or someone else’s. Today more than 17,000 churches use this curriculum to minister
to their own members as well as to individuals in the community who are dealing
with alcoholism, substance abuse and other types of addictions.
Whether the situation stems from your own experience or those of a loved one, Celebrate
Recovery is for you! Celebrate Recovery is founded on eight principles of recovery,
found in the Sermon on the Mount. The program is forward looking (no wallowing in
the past allowed) and emphasizes personal responsibility for one’s actions, surrendering
to Jesus Christ and the New Testament principle of community.
Celebrate Recovery ministers not only to WHC members, but also to friends and loved
ones that you invite. At Saddleback, for example, more than 70 percent of Celebrate
Recovery participants had no prior connection to the church before beginning classes.
But many ended the program as not only members of the church, but also active lay
ministers! This is an excellent way to introduce WHC to people who need ministry
from you.
Here’s how you can be part of the ministry of Celebrate Recovery:
- Pray about the people in your life who need Christ’s healing from hurts, hang-ups
and habits – their own or a family member’s. God will be faithful to bring these
people to mind, and to introduce new ones to your life.
