The Fire of God
Do not put out the Spirit’s fire.
1 Thessalonians 5:19
Are you on fire for God? Do you have a burning desire to share your testimony
with people? Do you seek opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus with your
friends, family, or acquaintances...or has your fire gone out?
Paul commands us in 1 Thessalonians 5:19 not to “put out the Spirit’s fire.” It
is our job to keep the fires burning. We have the fire of God within us and we
are to stir it up continually.
2 Timothy 1:6 says, “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of
God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
Our lives should be ablaze testifying of God’s ability to transform his people
into the likeness of Christ.
With each act of obedience we fan the flame…with our generosity we fan the
flame…when we tear down demonic strongholds we fan the flame…when we pray we
fan the flame…when we spend time with God we fan the flame…and when we
meditate on His Word we fan the flame.
During this Pentecost season remember to fan the flame that is within you—stir
it up so that the world will know that you belong to God.
