Being Refined
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
- Hebrews 12:11
God accepts us where we are and loves us too much to leave us there. Although it
may be painful, He wants to refine us to remove all the impurities and make us
the best we can be!
The Bible is full of God’s people who were being refined. Job was tested, and
although he lost everything, he still clung to God and was eventually rewarded
(Job 23:10-12).
Paul also endured many trials for the Gospel’s sake...but look at the outcome!
Millions may have been saved because of his letters to a handful of new
churches.
Quitting is never an option for those enduring to the end. You have to follow
the convictions and understandings of the Holy Spirit to gain wisdom.
Are you willing to let the battle form you or will you cower back when the world
says, “You can’t do that”? Will you stop witnessing when you are persecuted?
Mighty vessels of God are built-in battles, forged in the fires of opposition
and finished in the kiln of the Potter’s fire as rock-solid examples of God’s
unfailing love.
